New Castle Street Names
The streets of New Castle were laid out by the Dutch and named then renamed by the English around 1700
These original street names were replaced when the town
achieved
self-government in 1797 with a new set of names which was used
throughout the 1800's until an act of the legislature in 1907. This table is provided to help with old censuses!
